Coral Broughton                         Post Grad Dip , BFA (Painting), Dip Tchg

 Most of her teaching career has been spent in Secondary schools.  At College she studied and exhibited sculpture work and dabbled a little with oils.  It wasn’t until her overseas travels later in life that she fell in love with Bernini and Michelangelo sculptures in Italy. She then began to explore an adaptation of the Verdaccio method of painting, which initially uses tonal values to draw in the subject matter.

 Since the Christchurch earthquakes Coral has explored painting some of the icons and buildings around the city in remembrance of her husband John’s family that arrived on the first four ships in 1850.

Coral lives with her husband John and their dog on their 20 acre property in Rangiora.
